1968 Mustang fastback shelby

This was probably one of my worst buys. I found this one on ebay, it was “fully restored” in PA and it looked good on pictures. I bought it and got it shipped to me without actually looking at the car. Huge mistake.

When I got the car home it had a bunch of problems, things were leaking, things were installed wrong, wrong parts were installed, used parts were used even tho everything said to be new, after some things I couldn’t do much, and would only lose more money if I decide to ship it back or get a refund some how, so I decided to go ahead and restore this vehicle that was already restored.

Biggest problem on this vehicle was the rusted out cowl area, the whole pan under the cow cover by the windshield was rusted out and any rain or car wash would flood the whole floor. I have never done such repairs, but figured id have to learn one day or another.

After finishing the cowl repair and selling of all of the used parts that I was not going to use I ended up with a really expensive shell, so I did have to buy all new parts, it did suck since I paid a “fully restored” price for this vehicle, but it was not turning back at this point.

Once the project was completed the economy crashed in 2008, it took way longer to sell this car, but eventually I was able to sell it, still make a little bit of profit and also I needed the money because I was trying to buy a house, at the end everything worked out and I was able to sell the car for a reasonable price and was able to buy a house at a good price during a bad market.
